Supporting sector growth and development

Programme Planning

Planning is critical to the success of any mentoring, befriending or school based peer support programme to help reduce uncertainties and minimise the risk of a programme underachieving or becoming financially unstable.  We have an extensive track record of helping new and experienced organisations effectively plan, design and deliver efficient and effective programmes. We also provide strategic support to commissioning managers looking to develop quality frameworks or procure mentoring or befriending services in their local communities.

Mentoring and Befriending Solutions offers a wide range of services to both new and experienced providers in this area including:

Strategic advice and programme planning – we can work with you and your organisation to clarify your requirements and formulate the most efficient and cost effective means to plan and implement your programme.

Feasibility study – we can provide an independent and objective analysis to help you determine the viability of a proposed mentoring, befriending, school or college based peer support programme.

Service improvement review – we can provide a comprehensive analysis of your service provision, identify problems and areas of good practice and provide you with a detailed quality improvement plan to help move your programme forward.

Volunteer management – we can design and support the implementation of an effective volunteer mentoring, befriending or peer mentoring management system or review an existing system to ensure that it meets quality standards in volunteer mentoring and befriending management.

Monitoring and evaluation – we can develop a detailed monitoring and evaluation framework to help you systematically gather appropriate information that will enable you to demonstrate your achievements and plan for the continuous improvement of your programme.

Income generation strategy – we can help develop and implement a detailed income generation strategy to help contribute to the long term planning of your programmes operation. This could also include the expansion of existing income streams into other areas such as legacy fundraising, trust and institutions, corporate sponsorship, community fundraising and other relevant donor audiences.

Research and evaluation – we are able to undertake evidence based research across a wide range of mentoring, befriending and peer mentoring sector areas and are happy to work in partnership to share our specialist knowledge with others in the field.   We can also deliver an evaluation of your programme to help develop your own or your organisations understanding of how you’re mentoring, befriending or peer mentoring programme is operating and the impact that your provision is having at an individual, organisational, community and policy level.
